These days, my interest in the past has been rediscovered. I suddenly took a notice to people who made a difference in their life. James Dean, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix are the few who got my attention. Ok, all of them are dead. But they still left their legacy behind for the whole world. So many of them died at such a young age, James Dean at a tender age of 24 while Bob Marley at 36. Such a tragic loss. Its interesting to read up on their lives and from there, relate that they are only humans too. Without them, the world would be such a different place now...

had a blast yesterday
accompanied my sis to get her new Siemens St 60 hp
she was blasting away with her new found gadget on my face
and i hate taking pictures
wasted time with her at JP while waiting for melissa
my sis met up with her new "rebonded" friend
and mel showed up at the exact moment

mel and i headed down to cineleisure to catch a movie
got the tickets for the 7pm movie
so we decided to play pool first
then get to kino to get her gothic book which cost a bomb
and rushed for hotdogs and onion rings along the way
got to the movie on time, and it was great
met up with mel's frens outside cineleisure
squeezed into the vehicle with four of us at the back
headed to PS and ate at BK
sent mel home soon after that
and reached home at 12
an enjoyable day to say the least

Magical moments, which i thought was the most beautiful ive ever had, doesnt look that way anymore. Day after day i kept thinking about it, felt like i could scale any mountains ahead. But now the mountains have crumbled down to earth and all thats left are empty spaces. I could just walk through it with neither feelings nor accomplishment. How blind was i, to think that such a thing could happen to me? Factors which attributed to such fate was so overwhelmingly obvious, yet the obvious doesnt seems so obvious at that point of time. Now that ive uncovered the truth, that fateful day may turn out to be the worst day of my life.

I look back with disgust. I look back with hate. I look back with anger.

I shall try to forget...

Taken 2 years ago

Taken yesterday

Looks like we've matured. Been a while.

Hanged out with the gals yesterday at town. And as usual, i was 40 mins late. haha. (For your information gals,i am never this late if i were to meet any of my old girlfriends)

Azlin(not Azlin from SP as some of you have asked) was looking for some facial thingy at Watsons with Melissa. Apologised for my late comings and we headed out for Long John Silvers at Lido as we were hungry. Along the way, the gals suddenly started to talk about butts and they were like checking out mine. WTF. haha. And then they started talking about stomachs and checked mine. WTF again. haha. Weird gals! Anyway, reached there and got our food and we started blabbering on lots of stuff. After around half an hour, we retreated to Far East as Melissa was looking for some metal CD. The shop was kinda cool, but she didnt get her CD as it was kinda out of print anymore. Azlin got a call from her boyfriend and just like the previous outings, she had to go early. Damn, at least this time she stayed a bit longer. But at least she has a very good reason this time, its her 1 and a half year anniversary with her guy. Congrats to you. We met up with her boyfriend, whom i found out was a programmer. I really admire programmers as i myself tried my best to learn programming, but all that i can see are words from a foreign language. Shook hands with him and we parted ways. Melissa wanted to play pool so we headed down to Lucky Plaza for a game.

I thought her how to play, but i find myself lacking in concentration when hitting the balls. Missed so many simple shots. Im beginning to suck at pool after not playing for so long. Finshed playing at around 9 45 and we walked to Borders. She used to work at Borders so she knew the people working there. The malay guy who looked like Bob Marley was one of her friends working there, and he was quite a funny guy to say the least. She was looking for the "Abeoum" Cd, but ended up buying some trance CD. 3 CDs for the price of around 30 bucks. After that we took the train and headed home. We talked about the guys she dated and how some of them just wanted a fling. Well to me, a fling has never crossed my mind. I prefer to find some long term relationship rather than some short term just for the sake of having one. Stopped at Jurong East to board the Choa Chu Kang bound train and we parted ways. Promised her to watch Harry Potter with her soon. I try my best to watch the first two movies first!

Other than that, i watched the England Portugal game and it was such a bore after Rooney went out injured and Owen scored the goal. The penalties ended the game in favour of Portugal, but thats a sad way to go out of the tournament. And my favourite team ,Portugal is going all the way again. GO Portugal Go!

This few days have been restless. Sometimes i just cant sleep. Thoughts linger in my mind of things that should and shouldnt have happened. Skies linger from darkness to light yet images of events keep playing over and over again, like a spoilt record. I closed my eyes to block them out but it just makes it clearer...

Why

why does tonight, have to end? why don't we hit restart, and pause it at our favorite parts.
we'll skip the goodbyes. if i had it my way, i'd turn the car around and runaway, just you and i. and i... don't want to speak these words. cause i, don't want to make things anyworse.

Had no mood to venture out recently and after some persuasion from "the worm" and "saha", they managed to get me out. "Saha" a.k.a vinod, is going into NS next wednesday if im not wrong, and after so long not meeting him, i decided to meet up with them. Met vinod at Jurong Point cos he wanted to go to the arcade. But that guy seems to never be on time and therefore as soon as i reach there, we had to quickly take the train to Jurong East to meet up with Shafi. Kiran didnt turn up yesterday, he's missing in action. Calls from vinod was returned with voicemails. We will be meeting up with Vinods girlfriend and Thiru later, as both of them are working. So the three of us reached town by ourselves and Far East was our first destination. Vinod wanted to get some metallic belt. Walked around and afer numerous shops tour, he got one at around ten bucks. He just cant wait to put it one so he went to the toilet with his precious belt to wear it. I bumped into Herwan, my secondary school friend, while going down the escalator. I didn't notice him at first but i suddenly heard my name being called. I turned and saw this familiar smiling face walking towards me with a girl. I then realised that it was him and so we talked for a while, and exchanged numbers.

As soon as the belt was bought, we decided to eat at Cahaya. I was the hungrier of the three, as i only had Kellogs Cornflakes for my breakfast(or is it lunch as i woke up at 12), and so we ate some dishes like sweet and sour chicken, hotplate tofu and some vegetables together with rice. I still wasnt full after that meal, but since we were meeting up with Vinod's girlfriend, Uma, and also Thiru , i might as well get another bite later. So the three of us just walked around looking at girls and ended up at Tangs, and we explored every inch of every floor. A call from Uma, and we were down to the entrance of Tangs. She wanted to go to Far East, and so we headed there again. After searching for a shoe that she wanted to get, there was a call from Thiru and we all met up for another meal as those two haven't had their dinner. Saw Jeslyn and another Sp gal sitting outside KFC, said hi to her and went back to join the rest of the gang. We headed to Burger King, and more food! haha. We made stupid jokes and i was laughing my head off. And there was lots of pretty girls around for us to look at.

After the meal, we headed to Lucky Plaza for a game of pool. At first, i pressed 7th floor, and we ended up at the carpark. Then Shafi pressed the 4th floor, and we ended up somewhere else. haha. In the end we realised it was on the 6th floor after certain guessing. Played at Mambo and i have to say i kinda suck now. Havent been playing for more than 6 months and it shows. Lost once, but won the rest of the game with luck. We were laughing and making jokes all the time there. At 11, we decided to call it a day. The rest took the train but i prefer taking the bus as it stops just behind my house. End of day.

Walking away.
It's not the same as running
Is it to you now
That you've run this in the ground?
and you say "Take this,
This medicine is just what you deserve
Swallow, choke, and die.

And this bitter pill is leaving you with such an angry mouth
One that's void of all discretion, such an awful tearing sound
With its measure only equaled by the power of my stare
Glaring over you and over you, this feeling of despair
Is never wearing out.

It's wearing off
And it's leaving you with such a heavy heart
And a head to match
The bottle is waiting
The cap is twisted, begging to be used
And so are you.

And this bitter pill is leaving you with such an angry mouth
One that's void of all discretion, such an awful tearing sound
With its measure only equaled by the power of my stare
Glaring over you and over you, this feeling of despair
Is never wearing out.

Wearing out, wearing out.

I'm bored today so i decided to talk about something i love, and that is music! Here, ill review albums that i have just heard recently and will give them a rating depending on the quality.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Album Name : Soul sessions
Artist : Joss Stone
Genre : Jazz And Soul
She has a soulful voice that reminds me of Aretha Franklin. Even though she's white, she sounds black. And that interesting fact plus her good choice of songs such as "The Chokin Kind" and "I Had A Dream" made her debut album as wonderful as her voice. She has been hailed as the next big thing, and i cant disagree with it. She's something refreshing to listen to when you are bored with other genres of music.
Rating : 3.5/5 stars
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Album Name : Swiss Army Romance
Artist : Dashboard Confessional
Genre : Emo Rock

Chris Carrabba, from the now defunct Further Seems Forever, stuck a chord with the American teens with his lyrics and acoustic guitar playing. I have heard of the other albums they had and by far, this is the best album they have released. Most of the songs are only accompanied by an acoustic guitar, so you wont hear other instruments being played. But occasionally, you'll hear violinss and orchestra's playing in the background. "A Plain Morning" is one of the wonderfully written song in the album with its catchy chorus about love and betrayal.

Rating : 4/5 stars

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Album Name : I Am For You EP
Artist : Waking Ashland
Genre : Punk Rock
Little is known of this five-piece group from California. I found them in Smartpunk.com, and from there on became their number one fan. Their songs stuck a chord with me and the vocalist has a great voice. They have a melodic feel to their songs that grabs you in an instant. "Long Shot" and "Hands On Deck" are my favourites in the album. Such a pity that their albums can't be found on our shore. A few years from now, im guessing they will be big, as in BIG! Look out for them. I just cant wait to get my hands on their full debut album! It is worth the wait.
Rating : 4.5/5 stars
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Album Name : The December Drive
Artist : Evoka
Genre : Progressive Rock

Complete with indelible hooks, Evoka is steadily gaining respect one loyal listener at a time. After listening to December Drive, the band's latest EP, you are left with the feeling that the group in Evoka have kicked around the London streets for years. Their flurry of melodies and furious chords stays with you even though you stopped playing the record 10 hours earlier. "The side you've never seen" is my favourite track in the album, as you never get tired of the lyircs.

Rating : 3.5/5 stars

There you go, my first 4 album reviews in my life. Hope you find it informative and interesting, and from there on willing to discover new bands like myself...

Sentosa was a blast. I had great fun staying at the chalet there. Managed to go swimming, explore the island, night walks, games and lots of monorail rides. As of now, im looking for a temporary job before i go in to Civil Defense. My grandma said that Sentosa wants some people to work at the monorail stations. Maybe i can get the job and drive the monorail thingy, and drive at a faster pace then they have now. It's so slow. I'll go at 100km/h and it'll be a tourist attraction. Just like a roller coaster ride. haha. Then people will come to Sentosa just to ride on my monorail. "Andi the monorail driver", best in Sentosa and some say Disneyland.

When i went to sleep after watching the Portugal-Greece match,i had this wonderful dream. I dont really remember the dream much but only a certain part of it. I woke up with a feeling that i cant describe. I had butterflies in my stomach and i cant stop thinking about someone. Every page i turned that day and i see a gals face, i see hers. haha. Weird but kinda overwhelming.

Before my trip to Sentosa, i went to St John Island for around a week to visit my grandma. I went there with my family, my aunts and uncles and my best friend. Its been a while since i last visited the island, and i was hoping it would turn out to be a memorable visit again. And i was not wrong. Theres too much to write about, i guess you can check out my best friends blog, Granelyst ,as he described every detail of our trip and it is better than i can describe. But basically, we went swimming a lot, i nearly climbed to the top of a coconut tree but failed at the last stretch, went looking around for sea snails or 'mata lembu' in malay to cook and eat, my auntie taught me how to find and catch a large worm called 'wak wak'(it looks like a giant worm and gals will definitely scream at the sight of it) which can be used for fishing bait, watched a fiery display of thunders at night from a bench by the sea and just turned my mind off everything. I had an enjoyable time there and i guessed that i had my moment of peace.

In other news, i watched the England Versus France game and i really thought that England was gonna hold on the lead to the end. But only to lose by 2 lucky goals. From what i saw yesterday, England has a chance to win the tournament. And Beckham was marvelous yesterday. But my favourites to win the title is still Portugal even though they lost. They'll bounce back for sure.

Other than that, i would like to wish my best friend, Amir, a happy 20th birthday! You have been my best friend since secondary school and i would not be what i am today if you have not helped me to get through the difficult times. You have always been my trustworthy friend and i wish you all the best with your future and also with Fazila...

Wrote a short poem for her in a few mins and sent it to her. Here it is...

Lay back and look up,
Stars are forming your name,
Wind blows into my ears,
All that you wanna hear.

Sleep tight,Every night,
Dont think too much,
For i will be watching,
From darkness to light.

Hope she liked it..
