hey man, im back from the dead. its been like years since i blogged. ok, not years but still a decent amount of time away from this. well, im currently left with one more week before i finish my ptp (physical training) stage. everything has been smooth sailing so far, except for a few lows here and there.

this is how a normal routine day goes:

05 15 - wake up to the sound of the alarm clock, change into PT (shirt and shorts) quickly and rush down to fall in (without bathing, no one does in the morning as we all are soooo sleepy)

06 15 - finish eating breakfast

0620 - area cleaning, sweep up leaves and dirt all over the camp

07 30 - 0800 - end of cleaning and rest

0800 - 1730 - footdrills, strength training, flexibility psychomotor training, circuit training, maintenance, counselling and welfare, talks and our lunch

17 45 - 2200 - dinner, night snack, water parade, phone calls, soccer, slacking in the bunk

end of day

imagine how many training they can squeeze in one day. and now that fasting month has started, all the muslims are so tired and thirsty of all the trainings. sometimes we run 10 rounds afterthe usual 5 bx, sometimes we do play games like dog and bone (Bravo is the champion among the 3 companies! haha), and sometimes we do get 200 push ups in one day.

my only complaint has to be my company's Encik (a.k.a Warrant Officer). he really is a pain in the arse. one minute he can joke around and make us laugh, the other he'll be shouting at us for no reason. this split personality has caused many of us to get Extra (guard duty in the camp at night, most of the time on weekends). any small problem he sees wrong, he'll give you an extra. to him its just like giving out candies. sometimes, he'll just walk up to you and scold you for no apparent reason, and youd be shaking in your boots cos you have no idea what he's talking about. and one more thing about him, his footdrill commands are like shit! you can never make out what he says and the whole platoon will go on doing different commands from each other.
i think one of my friend still has 6 more extra to clear up.

there has been many moments that really cheer us up. too many to tell actually. my fren, supandi, being asked to catch a bird from a tree by my platoon commander, CD version of singapore idol (they actually have to sing in front of the whole company during PT lessons), people saying i love you to each other as they hung on to a tree just like those bollywoood shows, recruit asked to dance to "oops i did it again" and many countless memories.

lat week, while i was in my weight training session, i found out that i lost weight. a lot of weight actually. from a heavy 75kg to 67kg. cant believe it at first but ive double checked. haha.

ill get to know my vocation next week but i hope it'll be the one i chose. during the one on one interview with my PC, he told me that he recommended me for ers (emergency response specialist). i wanted to go there but guess how long is the training for that? 6 months. that is fucking damn long. even being a fire fighter takes only 3 months. ers is basically taking care of a fire station. but the best thing abt ers is that its the only route towards being a seargent in Civil Defence, the hightest rank a ns man can get. and the pay is not that bad, 1.2k if posted to the fire station. wish me luck on that man.

thats it i guess, ill update more the next time. till then, update me with what you guys have been doing aight...
