Took some time off today to watch My Girl after getting the vcd from jeff.
It was a nice movie down memory lane, of childhood memories gone by and friends we've forgotten.  It's about how one boy's action towards his childhood love made him regret it for the rest of his life. Sad as it may sound, the girl got married and the boy now in his 20's still has flashbacks of his younger days with her.

I guess everyone has their own childhood love whom they've cherished or lost through time. The story does strike a chord with me as i encountered it first hand during my childhood. You see, my mom used to live on St John Island. And ever since i was a baby, i was brought up there for a couple of years. Therefore, i used to be best friends with a gal just two houses away from my grandma's. It was similar to the movie, in a way that the kids was only seperated by another house in the middle of theirs. I remember playing with her all the time, from fishing to cooking, to games and even soccer. Sometimes we would play the "rubber thingy"(i forgot what its called but it was shown in the movie), which we must jump over it for as long as we can.

Everytime i was with her, i had a great time and lots of fun. She taught me things which i still remember to this day, such as tying a fishing knot. The boys there weren't really close to me, so i hanged out with her most of the time. As time went by, we grew distant. My family moved to my grandpa's HDB flat at West Coast while she stayed behind at St John Island. During holidays, my family would go back to St John to take a breather from busy Singapore. Sometimes i would see her if im lucky, but most of the times she was back on the mainland staying at her parents home.

Slowly, one by one, the residents on St John retired and moved to Singapore. The good ol' residents was mostly gone. The feeling of a really great kampung was left empty except for a few souls. And she left for good. But i had the luck of running into her a few years back, while i was holidaying at St John. She was at the doorstep, with her backpack strapped on her. She called for my mom and that was the last time i saw her. I regret not saying hi or even getting her contacts. I was just too dumb i guess.

All i know now is that she resides at Queenstown. Maybe luck will come my way and ill meet her by chance again. I miss the good ol' days. Memories bitter or sweet stays with me nonetheless of a great childhood friend that i had. No one can take that away from me.

The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi

Zatoichi is a blind samurai who shuffles from town to town, righting wrongs with his remarkable sword hidden within his cane. He is also a masseuse who likes to gamble. When Zatoichi arrives in a small town, he unknowingly walks into a classic tale of revenge, as two women plot to kill the men who murdered their family. As Zatoichi becomes more involved, an eventual showdown with young samurai Hattori (Tadanobu Asano, who excelled in Takashi Miike's very violent ICHI THE KILLER) is inevitable. ZATOICHI is thrilling filmmaking at its best, an endlessly entertaining samurai epic from a man who fully understands the genre and is not afraid to take it to the next level.

fuck, i watched it today and i fucking love the movie! A pity that i dont think it will be shown in cinemas here.

ive been stalling on Pulp Fiction for months and today, i finally took the time to stop watching other movies and watch it. I've seen bits and pieces of it but never the whole movie. It was truly one masterpiece. It is a gangster-like movie but with humour and violence unlike any other. The duo of Samuel L Jackson and John Travolta is one of the best pairing in movie history. Their lines were delivered with such ease and humour.

The film interweaves three tales, told in a circular, fractured manner, which only fully connect by the time the final credits roll. The first story focuses on Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), two hit men on duty for "the big boss," Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), whose gorgeous wife, Mia (Uma Thurman), takes a liking to Vincent. In the second, a down-and-out pugilist (Bruce Willis), who is ordered to take a fall, decides that there’s more money in doing the opposite. The final chapter follows a pair of lovers (Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth) as they prepare to hold up a diner.

Throughout the movie, the word "mother fucker" must have popped up more than a hundred times. Certain scenes are still playing in my head. There was one part where John Travolta accidentally shot a guy in the head whil Samuel L Jackson was driving as he hit a bump. That was just fuckin funny. And the other part was where Marsellus Wallace was getting fucked in the ass by some gay rapist. haha. That one i really cant stop laughing. At least the rapist got shot in his crotch after Marsellus Wallace was freed.

Next on my list, Zatoichi and Donnie Darko. Gonna watch it tommorow. Cant wait.

The Closest Thing
by The Juliana Theory

You're the words that come out easy,
And I am speechless at best.
Your star it seems to shine above the rest.
You're the face before the cameras,
The smile i'd like to earn.
The closest thing to perfect,
In a hollywood suburb.
You're the beauty that is deeper,
Than eyes can merely see.
The closest thing to perfect.
But the farthest thing from me.

I'd love to be,
The shoulder that you cry on.
I'd love to be,
The friend you call when things are great.

You're the dream that hasn't ended,
And I'm still anxious for rest.
Your words they seem to hang above my head.
You're the bud before the flower,
Unfurls into full bloom.
Captivating beauty,
But it maybe all too soon.
You're the song that writes a story,
But leaves alot to read.
The closest thing to perfect,
But the farthest thing from me.

And like I really deserve a chance to,
Sit across the table,
And tell you that I think you're wonderful.
And I think you're something special.
I guess this is my only chance to,
Say I wish I knew you,
Because I'm sure you're wonderful,
If I'd get to know you.

Lost Cause
by Beck

Your sorry eyes, they cut through bone.
They make it hard to leave you alone.
Leave you here wearing your wounds,
Waving your guns at somebody new.

There's too many people you used to know
They see you coming, they see you go.
They know your secrets, and you know theirs
This town is crazy, but nobody cares.

Baby you're lost
Baby you're lost
Baby you're a lost cause.
I'm tired of fightin'
I'm tired of fightin'
Fighting for a lost cause

today was a day of comedic errors unlike any other. got an sms from wirna asking me to tag along for a job interview. sounds great but the problem is we never really talk to each other face to face. haha. only a glimpse of high and smiles in reality and tons of chat on msn.  so i got ready in a jiffy and left for the train.

was to meet her at dhoby ghaut. i dont know why but my mind seems to be shut off today. even though ive been to dhoby ghaut like hundreds of time, i mistook it for tiong bahru. and why is that so? i guess ill never know. so thinking that dhoby ghaut was right after red hill, i got off from the train and smsed wirna telling her ive reached. so i just sat down on the bench like an idiot listening to my discman and smsing people. for ten minutes, i was catching a glimpse of the mrt mirrors to see if wirna was on her way down from the stairs. to my horror, i looked up and realised that i was at tiong bahru! i panicked, so i smsed her telling her i was at the wrong station. reached city hall quickly and when i was about to exit, i tapped on the no-entry barricade, making me walk straight towards the red thingy. quite funny actually.

scouted around for her and i finally saw her. as i was approaching her, a chinese guy walked towards her too. and guess what, he was a talent scout asking her to be a model! this guy kepo ah, my first meeting with her and he never let me make a good impression cos she was distracted with the guy. up close and personal, wirna is one pretty lass! i knew that she was pretty but not this pretty! haha. as soon as the guy walked off, we said hi's and chatted along the way to peninsula plaza. got up to the 26th floor and she realised she lost the paper that has the information regarding the place. she called someone and guess what, she found out the place we were suppose to go was international plaza, not peninsula plaza! haha. so we took the train to tanjong pagar and went for the interview.  we parted ways soon after that as she had to meet up with her boyfriend. wasnt the best first impression from me but what the heck, today wasnt my lucky day i guess.

.A Pirates Diary.

First off, set sailed on my boat at 13 00 to island Teck Whye. Set anchor at the nearest beach and row towards the shore. I started digging for treasure using the map given by the highest authority. Was lucky to get some gold off the treasure chest and set sail quickly as it was already late.

Destination : Continent China Malay Paradise Boulevard. ( a.k.a CMPB )

Harsh strong weather got me drained halfway. On land, i took a horse with a sign saying 195 on its head. Kinda weird looking creature. But i rode it anyway with no sense of direction, just hoping faith will lead me to the destination. A while later, i stopped and crossed a batallion of bulls heading for the open ground. It was a slow and dangerous process, one wrong move and ill be run over by these 10 tons beast. Patiently, i managed to get over to the other side without getting hurt. The entrance gate was guarded by two green beast, armed with a deadly weapon. I approached them with caution and the slow steps towards them seems like eternity.

"What do you want?", one of the guards asked.
I replied "I need to see the head of your palace to give me authority for my journey im planning."
"Let me check what you have with you so that you can proceed", he said.
I showed my belongings and after some identification, he let me passed without any hitch.

I walked up the hill towards the palace and i was greeted with a messenger. She asked me to proceed towards the hall and turn left. A sweet princess greeted me, and i told her of my need for her help. I passed her my documents and she proceeded to use a foreign machine. And then she said " You are cute". I was dumbfounded. I was taken aback by this sudden compliment and i just smiled back. Maybe she expected me to say something. Smiles were exchanged from both parties and after some time, we had to part ways. I told her how pretty she was and that it was nice meeting her. She just smiled and i left satisfied with my spirit on a high. Journey back to the ship wasnt easy. I literally just jumped on a random horse with the sign 274 not knowing where it will lead. Fortunately for me, i was brought straight back to the beach just a few miles away from the ship. I set sail immediately soon after.

Destination : Continent Somerset.

Departed at 1500.The journey was long and tiring. Tirades of people who don't seem to let other ships past by was getting on my nerves. Luckily, i had my bird to hum some soothing music to calm me down along the way. The hot sunny weather was also an obstacle. Water was scarce but i decided to press on. At long last, Continent Somerset was right in front of my very eyes. Dropped anchor and headed towards the shore. The beach was packed with people, and i had to squirm through.

My trip here was due to my faulty equipment. The SCV (Single Charged Violin) controller was not working, making my whole crew unhappy. At first, i thought i was heading towards the right direction, but once i was there, the patron told me that i was suppose to head towards P.S. (Pirates Shop). How stupid of me. I was quite annoyed with myself because i myself have  followed my buddies to exchange their  own controllers, and i totally forgot about it. Along the way, i crossed the river full of alligator just to realise that i wasnt suppose to. Damn. I stopped by POSB (Pirates Out Shop Business) to settle some unfinished business. Took me a while, but i was back on track soon. Destination reached at 1400. Throngs of people was lining up to get inside. I waited patiently for my turn and was served around 5 minutes later. The girl at the counter changed my controller without asking any questions. I set foot towards my ship and and set sail for home. The journey wasnt fun either, as it was long and hot. Once i reached my den, the whole crew checked out the new controller and was really impressed.

Just another day in the life of a pirate.
Based on a true diary.

Ive been watching way too much movies. Return Of The King, Harry Potter 1 & 2,  Elf, Braveheart and Along Came Polly. Been fun to kill time at home, but going out seems such a distant reality.

Im bored. Im broke. Im in need of cash. I wanna work but it seems no one wants to hire a soon-to-be Ns man.

And the worst part of it is, bills seems to pile up and life seems so bleak.

Barely Legal
by The Strokes

I didn't take no shortcuts
I spent the money that I saved up
Oh, my ol Momma's running out of luck
Like my sister don't give a fuck

I wanna steal your innocence
To me my life it dont make sense
Those strange manners, oh I love 'em so
why wont you wear your new trench coat

I shoulda worked much harder
I shoulda just not bothered
I never show up on weekdays
That's something that I learned yesterday

Drive you to work; you will be on time
These little problems they're not yours and mine,
Come on and listen to what I say
I've got some secrets that'll make you stay
I just want to turn you down
I just want to turn you around
Oh, you ain't never had nothing I want, but...
I want it all
I just can't figure out...
Nothin'

And all together it went well
we made pretend we were best friends
Then she said 'oh you're a freak'
They ordered me to make mistakes
Together again, like the beginning
it all works some how in the end
the things we did, the things you hide
But for the record it's between you and i

I didnt take no short cuts
I spent the money that i saved up
oh,momma running out of luck
like my sister dont give a fuck
I wanna steal your innocence
To me my life, it just don't make any sense
Oh, those strange manners I love 'em so
Why won't you wear your new trenchcoat?
I just want to misbehave
I just want to be your slave
You ain't never had nothing I wanted, but...
I want it all
I just can't figure out...
Nothin'

And all together it went well
we made pretend we were best friends
Then she said 'oh i can wait'
they ordered me to make mistakes
Together again, like the beginning
it all works some how in the end
the things we did, the things you hide
But for the record it's between you and i

I wrote a poem titled Sophie today. Sounds corny but ill post it up anyway.

i woke up in the morning to see your smiling face,
the walls are closing on to me with such enormous pace,
lights out in the living room,
and i turned on the tv,
you're sitting here right next to me.

the misty air shifts into place,
my throat is gasping for air to breathe,
i held on to your cold, sweet face,
and promise you'll never be replaced.

the stars give way to the light of shine,
but im still watching you day and night,
every movements you make seems so smooth and mesmerising,
can it be true or am i just dying?

Sophie, the days gone by and you're still here with me,
Here forever and always on my tv screen,
Images slant through every dying space,
Please tell me ill never be replaced.

What'd ya think of it? I welcome any comments be it good or bad.

just wanna wish my little sis a happy 17th birthday
we always fight but she'll always be my sis no matter what
family is what matters more than anything else
life past by so quickly yet it seems just like yesterday
that you were still a baby and couldnt say a word
we grow up and learn from our mistakes
life can be so cruel and funny at times

July 11, 2004
Just came back from a game of soccer. Been quite a while since i last met the block merah gang cos most of the time i played soccer at the field which is situated just beside my house with adults who i know nothing of. I was quite tired initially,as i just played my first game yesterday in about a week due to some sickness. But i came anyway, just to meet up with the guys even if the game is cancelled.

I came at 2.30pm but as usual, the rest slowly came and we only started playing at 3.30pm. Most of the guys had a long night yesterday, as they partied themselves all night at Hendrix, and their faces looks tired and sleepy. The field behind Hua Yi Sec was wet due to the recently departed rain fall just around 30 minutes earlier. The game was fun, and i guess Ummar was the man-of-the-match. He normally let in lots of goal as a goalkeeper, but he was on great form today. Maybe he's on drugs. The funny part was that he was the only player wearing sandals, as his boot was torn. Without him, i guessed we would have lost.

I played as defensive midfielder i guess, cos we were quite disorganised. haha. We won 5-4 eventually, and i managed to grabbed two goals. But i guess the opponents was not what we expected. And alas, i tore the sole of my Nike boots during the closing stages of the match. Fuck, this is the 3rd time i tore my boots. My Topper boots suffered the same fate just a few months back. But im hoping i can mend the boots this time with the services of a cobbler. I wouldnt want to get another pair of boots as i am totally broke.

After that, the guys parted ways and me, Ummar and Amir went to Rafe's house to clean up. Rafe offered us some drinks and after Ummar showered, we went to Norlin's for food. I ordered chili chicken rice with extra rice but i got a shock when the rice was more than what i expected. But i still managed to finish it as i was so hungry. The guys also digged into their respective foods and we chit chat on some topics for quite a while. Only departed from the coffee shop at around 8 plus. Ummar really wanted some cheese cake from Rafe's house so we went back to his place. Me and Amir waited downstairs and to our suprise, Rafe also gave us some cakes to bring home. Talking about Rafe, i find him a very colourful character. He used to be one violent guy, as he threw a chair towards a teacher during our secondary school days. haha. He mixed with bad company and his attitude changed. But towards people whom he trust, he really is a good friend. I really respect him. I guess time has mellowed his ways. He may look like a gangster outside, but if you know him well, he's a great guy inside.

Took the bus to boon lay interchange and we parted ways. The 172 bus took 20 mins to depart. And i was freaking frustrated at the lack of buses to quicken the bus flow. Reached home late and im dead beat. Was suppose to call someone at 9 yesterday but i totally forgot. Promised to call her again at 9 today but i totally forgot again. Hmmmm, i guess im a really forgetful guy. She must be damn pissed. I must try to call her tommorow by hook or by crook!

btw,who is liza ann? she commented on me a few months back and i just realised that.anyone has any idea?

I just woke up from my sleep and i really have to write this thing down
i dreamt a weird dream yesterday
(ive always had weird dream but they dissapear just as i try to remember them)
it goes like this

i was in a facility, holding a ticket with a greece flag on it
and it has a number, 101
so i went up to the room and guess what
i saw Zagorakis
if you dont know who he is
he's a greek soccer player in euro 2004
who won the player of the tournament
he told me "You are in the wrong room, yours is 97"
i checked my ticket and it displayed 97, instead of 101
hmmmmmm, the card just changed number under my nose

so i went to room 97, and i saw eminem!
for no reason, i was doing the handshake and stuff with him
as if i was one of his friends
i sat beside him and we talked
but then he got up, and he started teaching the class
and he was singing "this chicks dont even know the name of my band!"
i was like "fuck, what is this place?"
hahaha
no idea what was happening at all, and then the set just blacked out
i dont remember anything after that

woke up smiling to myself
another one of those weird dreams

ive not completed any task
in my to do list at the side bar
for last month
damn, im getting lazy
i need to wake up from this slumber nightmare
7/07/2004 11:57:00 PM

fahrenheit 9/11 was interesting
there was more to it than meets the eyes
background dealings and undoubtable support.
watching the movie really showed
how a mother fucking asshole Goerge Bush is
to fight a war with an excuse which was never really justified.
he wanted war for freedom and liberation
but what he brought to the country was
destruction and chaos.

seeing how one iraqi grandma lost her daughter
was really heart wrenching.
to see how congressmans who approved the war
and only one out of more than hundreds sent their son to iraq.
to know that the recruits for the war
was mostly from poverty stricken homes.
and lastly to know that
george bush is an asshole again.

my spidey wallpaper

i took out the logos and credits and added those words. was fun. took only 5 mins. dont know why there are white dots when viewed here. click on the picture to get the real view

Spiderman 2 was awesome
the way the story unfolded really gets my attention
there was this part where spidey totally forgot to wear his mask
while trying to save the train from crashing
and i was thinking "Wow,why is he not wearing it?"
lets jus say even spiderman forgets
he is only human

theres also the cameo appearance
-in the scene where peter parker met the doctor
the doctor would in the later episodes
turn into Lizard, one of his enemies
-the creator of spiderman Stan Lee
dodging debris in the Bank Fight scene
-john jameson is the future man-wolf
a spiderman villain

*spoiler from me* (dont read if you dont want to know)

but from what ive read during my teenage years
peter parker is actually a clone
ben reilly is the real spiderman

Marvel published a storyline in The Amazing Spider-Man (issues 149-151) which dealt with one of his enemies creating a clone of him. Spidey (Peter Parker) and his clone were put in a stadium, where a friend of his (theirs) was tied to a bomb. The Jackal (the enemy in question) told them that only the real Spider-Man could defuse this - if the clone went near it, the bomb would explode, killing the friend. The idea was that they would fight each other to the death, and "Either way, the Jackal will have his revenge!" In the end, the Jackal saw the error of his ways, and cut the hostage loose himself. He died in the subsequent explosion, which also killed one of the Spider-Men.

The survivor spent a while trying to work out whether he was the original or the clone, and went to a friendly doctor for some tests. However, while he was waiting for the results, he got involved in a battle, where he almost died. Because he thought of Mary-Jane at this point (his current girlfriend), rather than Gwen Stacy (his former girlfriend), he concluded that he must be the original, so when the test results came through he didn't bother reading them. With this new found confidence, he disposed of the clone's body by dropping it down a smokestack. And so it ended.

Except that it didn't. In 1994 (twenty years on from our perspective, although only five years had passed for the characters in the comic), Marvel decided to resurrect this storyline, and turned it into a much longer version, now known as the clone saga. It turned out that Peter's clone hadn't died in the stadium after all, and had woken up outside the chimney where he had been dropped. Realising that he was the clone, he decided that he had no place in his old life, and started a self imposed exile. He took the name Ben Reilly in tribute to the people who raised him - Ben for his Uncle Ben, and Reilly for his Aunt May's maiden name.

When his Aunt May became dangerously ill, Ben could no longer stay away, so he returned to New York to see her, where he ran into Peter. The Jackal also made a reappearance at this point, and proceeded to confuse the issue by making Ben and Peter question which of them (if either) was the original. Eventually, it turned out that Ben was, so he became Spider-Man, and Peter left to settle down with his wife and child. Round about this time, a skeleton in a Spider-Man costume was discovered in the smoke-stack.

However, it didn't end here. Due to poor sales, Marvel made a U-turn, and decided to bring back Peter as Spider-Man. This then entailed making him the original, revealing Ben as the clone, and killing him off. They have now returned to more straightforward storylines, so it looks as though the status quo should remain static for the time being.

interesting huh.

takes ard 2 mins for another ball to be hit
i was about to have a heart attack
but luckily i scraped through it
with my limbs still intact
azlin then went to work at jacks place downstairs
while mel and i headed towards the mrt
she went ahead to orchard
i went ahead home
end of "long" day
