sorry bout the last entry, was just having a bad mood on that particular day.

things i did the past week:

-went out with eymani for pool and slack at town
-been playing regular soccer everyday to keep in shape

thats one heck of a few activities i had due to money constraints. but luckily, i got my money back! now i understand why money is the root of all evil, if you have some you wanna save or spend them, if you have none you'll be thinking bad thoughts all the time. haha.

national service is just round the corner. september 14 is the day. been working out a lil to get into shape for my 2 1/2 years of service for the nation. (that sounds sooo patriotic, haha)

i watched 2 movies one after another today. caught in america first, a story about an irish family migrating to america to seek a new lease of life. it was a touching and moving movie, making me tear-eyed, the first time ever while watching a movie. great acting and beautiful storyline to go with it.

after that, i watched before sunrise (1995), about a romantic accidental meeting of 2 people on a train in madrid and then both of them spend a night in vienna. its the first time i watched this kind of genre of movie, which plays out 24hours of the time they spent together. the script unfolds at a leisurely pace, giving the characters’ bond time to develop more deeply and much more genuinely than in other films of this genre. By the time their rendezvous has ended, their realization--that this wasn’t simply a one-night fling--triggers them into making a bold declaration. it stars ethan hawke and julie delpy. wonderful movie to say the least. be waiting to watch the sequel, before sunset, if it ever plays out in singapore.

other than that, i caught city of god and bowling for columbine this past few weeks. whoever missed city of god should try to get a copy of the movie. one of the best ive seen so far.

ive suddenly felt that writing long entries bore people reading it. so ive decided to shorten every entry for reading pleasure.

graduation day was great, met people ive not seen for quite a while. getting on stage to get my diploma was a great feeling, even though i knew that i have not worked to my very best in SP, maybe only 40% of my potential. after that, went around taking pictures with friends and families. the guys later wanted to get their army stuff, so we headed to beach road for their supplies as some of them are going in the next day.

today met up with amir as i wanted to get a cap and maybe a t-shirt. didnt know where we were going and only made up our minds when we met. got a cap, my first and only cap, at peninsula. why i wanted to get a cap? cos im gonna be "botak" in a months time, going into civil defense. i dont want to walk around with no hair. haha. amir got a cap and tshirt at the same stall. he got money to burn. then walked to bugis to eat and i got a tshirt. slacked around then went home.

other than that, i got a temp job at science centre thanks to the one and only, wirna. its gonna be on sep 4-11, as they are having some events for secondary school kids. pay isnt that bad, and its situated near to my home.

gonna start working out tommorow, less than a month to civil defense.

ps. heres a pic of my cap

August 16, 2004

this is the last pic before i had my long hair cut. ill cherish this moment for the next 2 years when i enlist into civil defence. haha.( face whiten to hide identity. )

where did i left off... oh yeah, i had my temp job at suntec convention centre last thurs and fri. it was on an event called HR Summit where companies feature all their latest technologies and inventions. you'll see companies such as honda, tiger airways and even ngee ann poly.

met a whole lot nice people working with me. some of them were from overseas such as canada and london studying while others was looking for a job. it was great to know there were people from all walks of life. and the gals wasnt bad either. to elaborate on the job would take tens of thousands of words to fill in, cos every moment was wonderful and amazing.

in brief, i :

-helped at the registration counter, distributing bags and such

-"guarded" a room filled with people attending a seminar on global employment (i remembered that cos i was the only one among them getting to stand half-a-day "guarding" a room where guests, mostly CEO's, are attending a seminar. the best part was that i managed to be in a real "grown up" seminar. hehe. while the rest were doing work)

-met some cool australian air force guys, helping them display a parachute and arranging some notes on a few tables. they were really nice and friendly

-the "bosses" gave us different jobs, ranging from guarding an entrance to calling out the participants into their respective seminars. they were mostly americans or british, awfully friendly and helpful at all times. you'll never see a smile wiped off their faces.

-picked up a little accent i think, whenever i speak english now. seems that being around a canadian, londoner, british, australian and some others are influencing me to stop speaking singlish and use proper words. i think before i speak now.

-last but not least, the most time consuming job there was to carry 200 drums from one place to another. it was for a performance by human rhythms, and they too were great people to interact with. they managed to persuade me to become their cameraman for their performance, and i was delighted to be asked to do so. engaging conversation with them was fun and interesting. there were two of them, enze and mickey, and they didnt complain one bit. it was fun being around them, and after 2 days with them, it was sad to see them go. enze (cant really recall his name) was from south africa while mickey, his bro, was from australia. interesting to know that most of the family they had was born in different countries.

there were some other jobs to do there, but ill leave it out. the best part about this job is that we get to meet people from all walks of life and also, free food! we get to dine on food that participants ate, whom paid ranging from $300-$1200 to attend the seminars. and it was superb. sushi, beef, chicken, macaroni, briyani, pudding, mango cake and more! what else would i settle for. haha. every time we had a break for lunch, it'll be tough to get back to work cos we ate too much food.

other that work, i managed to scour bugis looking for a t-shirt with amir and his gal, caught house of flying daggers with jo, genius, gx and sya, had dinner with some frens and cut my hair during my free time. yeah, i cut my hair. my long dreadlocks are gone. damn. all because of the stupid graduation rule for males to have hair not touching the collar. i went to jurong point with a dillema whether to cut in the traditional malay shop or at storm. in the end, i settled for storm and it was a great experience cos i only had my hair cut by cheapo shops all my life. a new experience, and it felt good. thanks to jo for helping me out there.

3 more days till graduation on aug 19, familiar faces will be seen and laughters will be heard. 3 years of "hard" work has paid off, and we'll be getting our diploma. uncertain futures are ahead of us, and we'll strive to make a mark on this world.

back from batam after a few days there. this is gonna be quite a long journal, i hope i dont lose you halfway. hehe.

departed from home on fri last week, at around 4 p.m.. took the cab with my dad and bro a block away and as usual, my dad was making conversation with the driver. he was talking very loudly as if he just came back from some loud rock concert. but this was a cab ride to remember. the driver was talking about how he had beeen driving for 24 years. and how he was having some financial problems and that being a driver is a hard and painful job. he then elaborated on having heart problems and it was costing him money. to top it all up, his wife acts as if she doesnt care at all and keep spending his hard earned money. when he told his wife that he wanted to sell the house to get a smaller one so that they could get some extra cash, she threatened to divorce him. now he's in a dillema and shortly after that, he started crying. it was a sad sight to see. how one's world could crumble in an instance. that's a hard lesson in a thing called life.

reached world trade in the nick of time. dad asked me to get 2 tuna sandwich from delifrance for my niece at batam. after that, bought a newpaper and some batteries but i forgot to take the paper after putting it through the scanning machine. damn. at the passport counter, the guy checked my passport and was looking at me as if im some criminal. he asked me how long ago the picture was taken, and i replied a few years back. have i changed that much? what the f*ck. got on the ship but it was already freakin full! walked around looking for seats but there were only separate seats available. and so i sat beside this old man at the back of the ship. took out my discman and started listening to my cd. he started staring at my discman as if he'd never seen it before in his life. i was kinda annoyed cos everytime i pressed a button, he would lean forward and look at my fingers. tremendously irritating. looked up and they had tom and jerry on the telly, and i was quite amused and humoured by it. such a great show to catch any time of the day. ship docked one hour after the journey and the queue was as long as it gets at the passport counter.

met my uncle and his wife along with her friend. he's been living in batam almost all his life. i can see that he got a new car, those big family suv's. as you know or not know, a car there costs as little as S$20k, freaking cheap! the only vehicle you can get here with that kind of money is a bicycle. haha. he drove us to his new house, ok, not new, but i havent been there for over 2 years so ive never seen it before. arrived there in a few minutes as it was so near to batam centre. super big house! and the interior was superbly designed. 2-storey house with 5 bedrooms and a whole stack of dvd on a cupboard, more than 100 to be exact. im getting freakin jealous man. and top of it all, he has 2 maids. the reason he's super rich? he runs his own business. some kind of hiring agency which recruits people from all over indonesia to work for companies in batam. enough about him, didnt do much on the first day there. my cousin, Ariq, came over from the office and we went out for dinner.

the next day, my dad went to tanjung pinang with my bro to visit my other uncle. he had some things to attend to. so i went to ariq's place. he was living on top of his office, which coincidentally is my uncle's as he work there. ariq was older than me by four years, and his family used to live in tanjung pinang before moving to padang and currently at sumatra area. he has been working for my uncle for 2 years now, and he just loves the freedom he has living on his own. his room was small, but he managed to pack it with a tv, dvd player, equalizer and tons of speakers. mostly bachelor stuff. he showed me the computer he worked on and it wasnt that bad. pentium 3 but only 3 gig of space. unfortunately, he had to work that day, a saturday, to wait for 2 guys at the airport and send them to their respective work place. i didnt want to stay alone in his room so i decided to join him. a fellow worker, anto, drove us to the airport. waited for one hour for the 2 guys to arrive as the plane got delayed. they were nice guys, coming all the way from medan and jakarta. it struck me how hard it was to get a job there, having to travel thousand of miles away from their homes. along the way to their hotels, i saw something ive never seen before in my life. there was a naked guy walking at the side of the road! freaking funny. we sent the first guy to his hotel and then on the way to the other destination, we saw that naked guy again. haha.

went to muka kuning to sent the other guy. the place was filled with gals! it is a kind of dormitory for workers there but only for gals. been there before a few years back, and it was still filled with tons of pretty gals. ariq went to send the guy to his workplace and so anto and me walked around "heaven" for a while. we talked and he offered me a smoke, gudang garam. its been a while since i took a puff, but what the heck, im in indonesia now. talked about gals and found out more about him. ariq came back and we were off to the office. i dropped off with ariq at matahari, a shopping centre there, to get some food and just explore the place. got 2 dvd's, don juan demarcos, my favourite movie of all time, and trainspotting. walked back to his place and just slacked around. at night, he had to go off as he already promised his friend to accompany them somewhere. so im left all alone. i decided to walked to the shopping centres nearby by myself. he gave me the keys and taught me which was which. and so we went our seperate ways. i got a t-shirt at matahari and had my dinner there. also managed to grab the new sheila on 7 album. on the way back, got sampoerna and lighter for freaking 8000 rupiah. thats only about S$1.20. compare it to singapore, you'll pee in your pants. got back to the office but it was almost pitch black. i unlocked the safety lock at the back of the office and i tried pushing the door back. damn, it wouldnt budge. i used all my strength but it would budge even a centimetre.

i wanted to call ariq but my hp just couldnt function in indonesia. so i looked for a wartel, a place to make calls, but the one beside the office was closed. f*ck, i had to walk all the way back to matahari to make a call. i was super pissed. managed to find a wartel that wasnt close and called him. ariq told me it was like that, need tons of force. with that, i walked all the way back once again. but this time, the front door was already opened. one of the roommates had waited for me as ariq had called him. i then realised there was another hole for another key to open the damn door. if only the back alley was lighted, i wouldnt have to walk all the way to get help. settled in his room and i watched don juan demarcos first. great movie, my favourite of all time. then i caught trainspotting. kent had recommended me this movie, so i decided to get it. it was a choice i didnt regret. there was one part where the guy was so drunk that he shit in his bed. then there was those f*cking scenes where u get to see ewan mcgregor naked, maybe the only movie he's doing it with a gal. haha. great movie. it was already around 2 am, but ariq was nowhere in sight. looked around in his dvd collection and decided to catch an indonesian chick flick called "30 hari mencari cinta". the 3 main characters was hot! and i thoroughly enjoyed it just as well. 4 am and i just decided to doze off after the movie.

all of a sudden, there was dangdut music! looked at my watch and it was only 10am. a stupid concert just started beside the office, waking my beauty sleep. ariq was still nowhere in sight. then around 11, he came back saying his fren met with an accident and he went to visit him. yeah right, i think he spent the whole night with his gal. haha. had breakfast at a place round the corner. ate ayam penyet for 7000Rs, super cheap and ten times better than singapore hawkers. we went to town to sell my old samsung hp. it was a little bit spoilt, just a few minutes after you start the hp you wont be able to sms or make a call. we walked around and managed to "trick" a guy into buying it for 200000Rs, not bad for a stupid phone. then i got a white long sleeve collar shirt for my graduation day at the store a few stairs up and went to meet my dad at ramayana. he was late and i managed to get my black pants for graduation too. then they went to a barber to cut their hair, but i was reluctant to cut as i dont trust barbers anymore. i say this they do that. i say fish they say chicken. a mile away from what i always wanted. after that had dinner and went back to my uncle's place to watch the soccer match between man utd and arsenal. damn man utd lost but arsenal was the better team.

watched his tv till around 3am. he has indosiar, a kind of SCV there, but with more than 100 channels! i was shocked to see so much channel on tv. HBO, ESPN, MTV, anything you want to watch, its there. i got to watch sex and the city for the first time, as i didnt have HBO on my SCV. and it was entertaining. it shows how horny women are. hehe. went to sleep in the mosquito infested room and had bites all around my left hand.

next day, took some pictures with my auntie and we departed back to singapore. missed the place already. hey, i think i wrote too much, someone give me a punch.

i think dreams are getting to me. even the past few days ive had dreams that i still remember clearly. one was about going back to secondary school right after poly and the other was about some war. wonder what i'll dream of next tonight.

moving on, i guess i have been too caught up with my dreams and annoying you guys with them. hehe. so ill talk about things ive done in the past week instead. nothing much basically, just went dvd/music hunting, pooling, movieing (ok, there's no such word, but you know what i mean), swimming, towning (again, you know what i mean) and soccering (this is getting annoying right). amir asked me to do a banner yesterday for his site and i came up with this two. had fun doing it.

its at
http://www.deviantart.com/view/9506446/
http://www.deviantart.com/view/9506472/

i tried linking to this two images using words but something somehow doesnt allow me to.

any ol' how, gonna be going to batam tommorow. my dad has some family thingy to attend to. you see, few weeks back, my uncle at padang( indonesia) had a heart stroke. so my dad gonna have some meetings with my other uncle's at Tanjung Pinang. we'll be going to batam first, then he and my bro will be going to tanjung pinang the next day while i stay behind. gonna be away till around sunday or monday. cant wait to eat my fav. dish, bakso there. hope my cousin wont be workin on saturday, so we can hang out and raid town!

lastly, wish you ppl out there a happy national day. wont be here to celebrate it but i hope to catch spore idol on tv there. haha. enjoy yourselves!

been reading up quite a bit on dreams from websites. here are some interesting facts i found out:

Animals
Animals most often represent that aspect of ourselves, or parts of our personality, that are present in our ordinary life. It is generally given that the more primitive the animal then the more primitive or deeper the layer of consciousness that represents. To dream of being bitten by an animal may be a manifestation of a fear of animals. What the animal is doing in the dream is also very important, if say, a pig is dancing, then maybe that means that the side of you that likes to over indulge is very happy with that. But if the pig were crying then that might indicate an inner urge to curb and over indulge in habit.

Hmmm, so me dreaming about killer whales biting my head might mean that i am going crazy.

TOOTHLESS DREAM
This classic dream has a number of interpretations. It can literally mean that you are frightened of losing your teeth. It can show the beginning of a new phase of life just as we lose our teeth when we pass from early childhood and head towards adulthood. You may be worried about your self image or the dream may signify unexpressed anxiety.

Ok, i have countless dreams of losing my tooth. My two hands are not enough to count the number of times ive had it. So maybe this means that i have unexpressed anxiety? What the heck is that.

Falling
Almost everyone has at some time had the alarming dream of falling from a great height. Some say that it is triggered by a dip in blood pressure, movement of the fluid in the middle ear, or a limb dangling off the bed. It has even been suggested that fears of falling are instinctive echoes from early in man's evolution when we used to live in trees. Persistent dreams of this nature may be a metaphor for loss of emotional equilibrium. You need to unwind before you go to bed. Programme your subconscious, before retiring, by listening to gentle music and visualising tranquil scenes

Who hasnt suddenly felt their heart pumping and jerked out of their bed thinking they were falling. Another dream i used to have but not anymore.

Deja Vu
This section is something i'll cover myself. Ive had dreams which showed me being somewhere and doing a particular action. And one day in the distant future, in that exact moment and time, i could remember being there and knowing what i would do next. It's as if i had already been there and done that before, but the truth is i didn't. Something like a glitch in The Matrix. Countless of times it had happened, and im beginning to think ive had flashes of my future actions.

list of Dreams that i still remember(there was more!) in no particular order:

-killer whale biting my head ( but my head was strong as steel), plus flashes of a gal in bikini

-banghla's digging at my old jurong west ampitheatre to create something

-a sad epic story about a sea creature's race, i only remembered the ending where the sea creatures, which looked human but with blue-green skin, walked slowly down a plank which leads to the water

-i was in a facility, holding a ticket with a greece flag on itand it has a number, 101.went up to the room and saw Zagorakis (a greek soccer player in euro 2004). he told me "You are in the wrong room, yours is 97".i checked my ticket and it displayed 97, instead of 101. the card just changed number under my nose. went to room 97, and i saw eminem! for no reason, i was doing the handshake and stuff with him as if i was one of his friends. i sat beside him and we talked but then he got up, and he started teaching the class. and he was singing "this chicks dont even know the name of my band!"

-losing my teeth, tons of time

-a date with a gal i knew, and then i met up with my primary school friend

-glimpse of things or places ill be in the future

another weird dream i had yesterday. i was a trainer for a killer whale and it kept biting my head and i didnt get hurt. it looks as though my head was made of steel. hmmm, then had flashes of a gal in bikinis with me. dreams are getting weirder and weirder. and dreams keeps happening almost every day but with different stories. is there any book or website that has information on such weird happenings? or am i seeing something for reasons yet to be explained?
